My story
Mira, together with her sisters Molly and Annabella, was found by a woman in Romania’s capital, Bucharest. The siblings were brought to a public shelter, which is an extremely harsh environment where the value of dogs is minimal. The sisters are now looking for their forever homes, where they can finally experience having a family of their own. Mira shows clear signs of a difficult start in life and carries trauma from her time at the public shelter. When the staff at ROLDA first met Mira, they thought she was seriously ill. After several veterinary examinations, it was confirmed that she is healthy, but deeply affected by her previous traumatic experiences. Mira has the potential to develop into a calm and confident dog, but this requires a very experienced, patient, and secure family who can guide her with respect and understanding. It is important to understand that Mira’s fear is not permanent — with the right support, love, patience, and slow, consistent training, she can overcome her anxieties and discomfort. She is looking for a family willing to invest time and energy in her sense of security, who can read her signals and always respect her boundaries. With the right home, Mira has a wonderful opportunity to blossom and build a life full of safety and love.
